Understanding Adolescence

Adolescence is one of the most important and transformative stages of human development. During these years, young people experience significant physical, emotional, and social changes as they begin shaping their identity and move toward adulthood.

While this stage is often portrayed as challenging or turbulent, it’s important to remember that many adolescents navigate it respectfully, thoughtfully, and with resilience — especially when they have the right support around them.

At Chat Space Counselling, I help teenagers and their families approach this stage in a way that encourages healthy emotional and social development. Counselling supports teenagers to feel safe, confident, and connected, helping them build positive relationships and a stronger sense of self as they grow.

Supporting Teenagers
Through Family Change

I specialise in supporting teenagers coping with family separation or divorce. Having experienced family breakdown myself as a child, I understand the pressure, confusion, and frustration that can come with it. My lived experience helps me connect with young people on a genuine level, offering empathy and understanding when they need it most. Through a client-centred approach, I provide a safe space to express emotions, build resilience, and find direction during times of change — helping teenagers move forward with confidence, clarity, and hope.
